Setting up your own Business Profile for FREE

Step-by-Step to Set Up Your Business Profile

*Before starting, make sure you go through the Guidelines for representing your business on Google. Your listing will be removed or you will get suspended from Google if your Business Profile is found violating the guidelines.

1. Search for your business in Google Maps. Example: go to maps.google.com (Google Maps app on mobile) and key in your shop name and press search.

2. If your business is available in Google Maps / Google Search, it should look like the following picture. Skip to step 4 if your business is new or is not found in Google Maps / Google Search.

3. If your business is shown in Google Maps / Google Search, click on the "Claim this business" near to the bottom of the listing.

4. If your business is new or is not shown in Google Maps / Google Search, go to https://www.google.com/business/ and click on "Manage Now". It should bring you to a page to add your Business starting from inputting your Business Name.

5. Follow the steps and input the information about your Business as stated on the Business creation page.

6. Go through the verification process as stated by Google to own the business.

Managing Your Business Profile

1. Go to https://business.google.com/dashboard with your google account.

2. Click on the Manage now button on the top right.

3. Select "Stay Here".

4. On the left-hand panel, you can customize your listing, including adding promotional posts, products, and services. If you wish to have a website, click on the website button and Google will automatically generate a free website for you. You can select your theme and fonts before pressing publish. The website will be automatically up-to-date based on what you have submitted in the Google My Business.

5. You can also manage your Business Profile via Google Search. The Website creation stated in Step 4 can be found in "Edit profile" > Business Information > scroll to Website section and press "Start now".
